I wasn’t sure what to call this recipe. My mother always referred to it as “pasty tart” but, it’s not really a tart, it’s more

First of all let me begin by stating that I had never heard of ‘HSP’ until fairly recently when my youngest son started indulging in this treat while out…
When you’re looking for an easy, yet tasty meal idea, it’s hard to look past the slow cooker. This recipe for slow cooked satay beef
This orange and chocolate chip cake has got to be one of the easiest cakes you’ll ever make – and it tastes great too! All
There’s nothing like a home cooked meal to offer both comfort and nutrition – nothing else compares.
In our modern world everything moves and changes so quickly and people are relying more and more on eating out and take-away food. Sure, it’s quick, convenient and nobody has to do the dishes! But, while it’s nice to eat out now and again, home cooked food is just so much tastier and better for you, not to mention more economical too!
Are we losing the skills to be able to cook for ourselves? I don’t think so. It’s not hard. If you can read (or even just copy what someone else is doing on a TV show or YouTube video) then you can cook! It doesn’t have to be difficult, in fact good home cooking should be kept as simple and straightforward as possible, afterall you have to do it everyday for the rest of your life!
This website came about when I decided to put together a recipe book of all of the recipes I commonly cook in our house. I thought it would be a good idea to have all of my commonly cooked recipes together in one place so that my children (who are all teenagers now) can cook dinner occasionally without me having to talk them through it every step of the way or tell them which recipe book to look in.
Also, looking towards the future, a family recipe book would be a great thing to pass on to them when they move out, hopefully many years from now, so they’ll always be able to recreate our favourite family meals.
I suggested the book to my kids who just laughed at me and said it would make much more sense to put the recipes online so anyone can access them anywhere, anytime. Luckily my eldest son is quite tech savvy and knows a thing or two about websites so this has become a project we have embarked upon together.
It will take us some time, but our plan is to eventually have all of our favourite family recipes here for anyone to enjoy. Anything you find on here you can rest assured has been cooked or baked many times in our house and has become a firm family favourite.
We’ve broken it down into three categories. We’ve got our dinner recipes, dessert recipes and our snacks and treats recipes. They’re pretty self explanatory so hopefully you’ll find our site easy to navigate and find the recipes you are looking for.
We hope you find this a handy resource for all of your home cooked family recipes.
